This is starting to get a bit ridiculous.

As any URU gamer should know, Cyan has been trying to get URU Live off of the ground for some time now. So far, it's been taken down... 3-4 times? Reasons being either budget problems, not enough staff workers, etc.

Now it's not like I'm working on the team, but, seriously now. It's been 4-5 years and it seems as though it's still undecided. The one version that lasted the longest was Until Uru (don't let anyone tell you otherwise). Note the "until" in the name. Granted, that meant it would be supporting the Uru community until Uru Live made it's comeback. However, Cyan had stated that once Uru Live returned, Until Uru would still be open for business.

GameTap, on the other hand, had different plans. Okay, so Cyan didn't make the call on closing down Until Uru, but still! If you're going to make promises, know that you can keep them, rather than simply telling people something that could very well change.

But enough about that. That's in the past and it's no use holding grudges. Looking towards the present, Cyan has plans for releasing MORE (Myst Online: Restoration Experiment) which will feature fan content. I for one don't think that would be a bad idea. The only thing I DO have a problem with is that it's not here yet, and already there are people reaching for their slice of the pie in the sky.

In my honest opinion, URU Live will only survive through cooperation of the community and cooperation between Cyan and their community. I'm not saying we should start some large political hierarchy within the game, that's unrealistic. Besides which, we don't want another liaisons incident. In all honesty, I think MORE may help. However, rather than try to pull the community together, that just will not work too well. There are those who do hold grudges and those who simply do not like other players in other groups. Conflicts from the past can still leave a bitter taste in your mouth, and attitudes of the present only strengthen said feelings.

Therefore, I only think it fair that the community split up into sub-communities (like we had on the shards). We'd go our separate ways and we wouldn't need to bother each other. We'd still be there, just static. Plus, I don't think everyone needs to be in the same room to make fan content.

I am still hopeful, but if MORE doesn't succeed, I think it's time for Cyan to call it quits. I think we're all starting to get tired of the heartaches.
